This development, located on land formally occupied by Robert Dyas Ltd, close to the town centre in Hinckley, has delivered 68 much needed new homes for both affordable rent and shared ownership.

Thirty eight of these properties for rent and shared ownership are owned and managed by NCHA, with the remaining 30 properties for rent being owned and managed by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.

There was close partnership working between NCHA, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council and the appointed contractor Westleigh Partnerships throughout the development.

Additionally, the site itself is long and thin with the properties arranged in a linear fashion to maximise the space available and provide street frontage.

The properties have gas central heating, and are very energy efficient. Proximity to the railway has also been considered with the rear windows having enhanced glazing, and an acoustic fence being installed along the boundary to reduce noise pollution.

Of the 38 properties being provided by NCHA, 21 are for affordable rent. These consist of 12 one-bedroom flats, 6 two-bedroom houses and 3 two-bedroom bungalows. There are also 17 properties for shared ownership, including 9 two-bedroom houses and 8 three-bedroom houses.
