New homes for Bulwell with a refresh to the former Lord Nelson site

9 August 2018

The development of 17 new homes for Tuntum Housing Association as part of the regeneration to the Bulwell area in Nottingham has now been completed.

The development consists of one and two bedroom bungalows, providing much needed affordable housing for residents in the local area, with the official handover of the properties taking place on 22 February 2018.

Pitch were able to support the development of the new scheme, assisting with audit compliance, land acquisition, cash flow information and co-ordinating handovers, providing the necessary drivers for the scheme to begin.

Additionally, Nottingham Community Housing Association’s (NCHA) Pelham Architects were appointed to design and project-manage the scheme, creating a layout with the properties built around a courtyard, providing a well overlooked safe space for residents’ parking.

Richard Renwick, CEO of Tuntum Housing Association, praised the new development: “Tuntum is really pleased to be able to deliver these good-quality homes for the community in Bulwell. This development is an example of an excellent partnership between Homes England, Nottingham Community Housing Association, Starfish Group and Tuntum.”

The site was developed thanks to Blue Skies Consortium for securing the land, with Starfish Group being appointed as the building contractor and some of the work being sub-contracted to NCHA’s Property Services Team, helping to create a fresh look for this once neglected area of Nottingham.
